Serious Moonlight
Time was running out. The moon was full.
He’d been cranking out pop garbage for too long. It wasn’t like when he first hit the charts. He’d been listening to his early recordings, melting into his old passion.
He felt a chord ring through him; it changed his current thought process. Yes! A harmonious agreement.
Later. She knocked on the door.
“Honey, you’ve been in here all day.
“I just finished. Happy Birthday.”
Neomi’s face lit up, her smile a crescent of joy.
Roney got up, turned on the recording he crafted, and took her in his arms.
“Let’s dance.”

I LOVE the sweetness of this story, Stu! It ended completely differently from how the start indicated it might go. Very skillfully done!

Thank you so much, Jan. Piggy-backing off of your post, I had the title & last line set before I even sat down to write. Just wrote, and then edited it down to the 100.
