Sonnet: Infectious, She

I called her infectious…smile taking flight;
Her laughter rolled around the atmosphere
Body fluttering, shaking in delight,
Embracing the joy, holding it quite dear.
There was a lightness in all that she did
Holding court in her walking and her seat
Even the food falling from her, down it slid,
To bow to her essence; derive a treat.
But, a passing furrowed brow did appear
Words from a friend not meaning to cut so
Made quick worried startlement, come quick fear
A look, a pleading, to me she did go.
I called her infectious; there was a smile
A tight hug to me, it’s stayed a long while.
