Coconut Music

Standard
Wordle: Adventure In JulyMonkey jump up on the beach
Telling a story with his banana
The jungle safari men kept a beat
Coconut music happen

Oh, jump up high
Oh, jump up low
Jump on a coconut
Go Go Go!
Oh, Jump to the left
Oh, Jump to the right
Jump on a coconut
Isn’t it nice?

Now Monkey he said
“I bring a banana to bed
but in the morning it be gone.”
He say “that banana split,
It lost it’s appeal;
I jump on the coconut
It always be real.”

The Safari men say “That not so!
Not a story that we’d like to know.
The Beach is the music
The Jungle is the tune
The Banana is the beginning
The Coconut come to an end..”

Oh, jump up high
Oh, jump up low
Jump on a coconut
Go Go Go!
Oh, Jump to the left
Oh, Jump to the right
Jump on a coconut
Isn’t it nice?

The Monkey and the Safari men sit right down
Down by the Jungle Beach, Down on the ground,
They eat the Banana and the Coconut too
The story is in the music
And it tastes good too!

Oh, jump up high
Oh, jump up low
Jump on a coconut
Go Go Go!
Oh, Jump to the left
Oh, Jump to the right
Jump on a coconut
Isn’t it nice?

OK…ANYBODY who tries to find something deep and meaningful in the above, let me know what you are on! 😉

Once again, Bluebell Books issued their weekly challenge, and this one I just took to the silly stage: The image at the top of this post is called a Wordle (never heard of that before), and the rules for the challenge are thus:

Create a story, a prose or a poem using at least 4 words from the Wordle given above. of course, you may apply all words provided in your entry, enjoy the challenge!

Words do form images, write a poem or a story using the words provided, have fun!

So, I was JUST HAVING FUN with this one. Today we were talking about Harry Belefonte, and I realize now, when I was playing around with this, I was thinking “Come, Mr. Tally man, tally some bananas…” and that is where this happened.

Go jump on a coconut…isn’t it nice?  🙂

  1. Oh I not only found a deeper meaning I laughed hard at it too. LOL I’ll not post it here though so you don’t assault me with your keyboard.
This was funny, I liked it. 😀

  2. I’m on Jimmy Buffet! Loved this fun, esoteric, and tropical song! I hear the music in my head; well, hey, it’s better than hearing voices! 🙂

  3. Twice as nice when you share it with your friends ! Thanks for sharing this Stu, it really made me smile, and I thought about the song right as soon as you started the chorus. Really delightful.

  5. I can actually feel the tropical island rhythms of this piece … it would make a nice jingle for an advert on a banana or coconut drink of sorts … very original !

  6. Can’t trust bananas, they either split or get all mushy very quickly. Now a coconut – well, you have to work a little harder but it’s worth it.

I am, of course, referring to weak character vs. strong character. 😉

This is a fun and catchy little piece. Now I’ve got the tune from “Under the Sea” stuck in my head.

  7. Great flow! I could probably find something deep and meaningful – in a perverse way, of course, but i’m trying to go against my natural tendencies!

  8. Brilliant! I could hear the rhythm and see the cartoon characters you were singing about. Harry Belafonte! Brilliant! Thank you for sharing something so completely devoid of seriousness and melancholy – I think we all need that!

    • You are most welcome, CC. I just don’t get why almost everyone who is doing these prompts have to go the angst route, even when they gave the prompt for a kid lit., Made NO sense to me. yes, we need to smile. Thank you.
